Boat Cruise to Kampong Phluck “Floodded Forest”: full day excursion |
Kampong Phluck (“Harbor of the Tusks”) hosts 3,000 villagers, most of whom live in stilted houses or wooden houses built upon metal drums and boat hulls. During wet season, this area is entirely submerged, whilst in dry season, the stilted houses will tower up to 6 meters above.
Flooded mangrove forests surround the area hosting a variety of wildlife including crab-eating macaques.
