Day 2: Sunrise Angkor Wat – Ta Prom – Angkor Thom

At 5h00 departure to Angkor Wat for sunrise visit:

Angkor Wat was in its original state, the most famous and magnificent Angkor Wat Temple (early-mid 12 th century) dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu.

This huge temple-mountain, built by King Suryavarman II is considered as the masterpiece of Khmer architecture and art.

After sunrise and visiting the temple our chef will set up a unique breakfast for you by the water side. A fresh view just in front of Srah Srang, also known as the “pool of ablutions”.

After breakfast continue to the most famous among these is Ta Prohm temple, built in the mid 12 th to early 13 th centuries.

Ta Prohm is unique in that it has been left largely as it was found:  Overgrown by jungle trees and vines, with many parts of the temple crumbling to the ground.

This makes Ta Prohm one of the most picturesque and memorable of the Angkor temples.

In the afternoon visit the Great City of Angkor Thom: Angkor Thom which was the last capital of the Great Khmer Empire under the reign of Jayavarman VII. This city is surrounded by a 8 m high wall, each side of the city is 4 km long.

It draws a perfect square you access this town through 5 gates; 4 of them represent the cardinal points and the 5th one the Victory Gate was the one leading directly to the Royal Palace Area.

Day 3: Banteay Srei – Beng Mealea – Siem Reap departure

At 8h30 start to visit Bantey Srei Temple, The Gem of Yajnavaraha.

By the 10 century, Khmer architects had made so much progress that they were ready to review their past and indulge in deliberate, sophisticated archaism this temple is often called the jewel of Khmer art.

Bantey Srei walls made with an unusual Pink Color sand stone are densely covered with some of the beautiful deep and instigate carving give it a fairyland ambiance.

Continue to the archeological site of Beng Mealea, the large temple built by Suryavarman II (early 11th century) in the style of Angkor Wat, similar shape and size, was it a prototype? The temple was “rediscovered” only in the 90’s.

This is why you will face a unique atmosphere; collapsed blocks among standing walls and buildings, overgrown by jungle. Still a less visited temple, where to shoot unique photos of nature regaining its rights after human activity it is also an opportunity for amateurs and archeologists to understand the temple’s degradation process and for visitors to climb the rocks! But no souvenirs picking please!

Get back hotel for lunch and rest until departure flight transfer to the airport.
